Leaders and activists of Inqilab Moncho and other organisations gathered at Shahbagh in the capital to bid farewell to Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi. At that time, they gave the Home Affairs Adviser a 24-hour ultimatum to resign.
The ultimatum was announced before the evening of Saturday (December 20).
“If the demands are not met, Shahbagh will be blockaded again on Sunday (December 21) at 5:15 pm,” said the leaders and activists.
Earlier, Inqilab Moncho gave a 24-hour ultimatum to Home Affairs Adviser and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Khoda Baksh Chowdhury. Inqilab Moncho member secretary Abdullah Al Jaber gave the ultimatum in a speech delivered on behalf of the family just before the Namaz-e-Janaza of Sharif Osman Hadi on Saturday.
Calling for non-response to any call for violence, Abdullah Al Jaber said, “All decisions will be announced from the Inqilab Moncho. Even after a week, the attacker on Hadi has not been arrested.”
At this time, the leader of the Inqilab Moncho demanded that Khoda Baksh Chowdhury inform the people about the steps taken over the past week.
Meanwhile, the burial of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi has been completed. He was buried next to the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, adjacent to the central mosque of Dhaka University (DU), at around 3:30 pm on Saturday.
Earlier, at around 2:30 pm, the Namaz-e-Janaza of Osman Hadi was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building with the participation of hundreds of thousands of people. The Namaz-e-Janaza was led by his elder brother Abu Bakr Siddique. After the Namaz-e-Janaza, he was taken to the central graveyard of Dhaka University for burial.
